Elvin G. Russ, 92
Elvin G. Russ, 92, of Granville passed away on Saturday, January 6, 2018 at Cabin Livin, Hennepin.
Elvin was born on May 25, 1925 in Walnut to Arthur and Rosetta (Hassler) Russ. He married Doris Keen on June 18, 1949 in Granville. Doris died on March 9, 2008.
He graduated from Hopkins High School. Elvin served in the United States Marine Corps.
He was a machinist at BF Goodrich plant in Henry. Elvin was also owner and operator of Granville Disposal Service. He was a member of the Granville American Legion Post #180 and the Granville United Church of Christ.
Survivors include one son, Charles Russ of Granville; three daughters, Ginny (Jim) Turner of Granville, Lorri (Dale) Foockle of Granville and Shelly (Tim) Mading of DeSoto, Wisconsin; six grandchildren, Gina (Dave) Rybolt, Tennille Bregar, Zebediah Mading, Tyrell Foockle, LCPL Lucas Foockle, and Eleanor Foockle and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, one daughter in infancy, Clara Louise, one brother, Charles Russ and two sisters, Adelyn and Marjorie “Peggy”.
Contributions may be made to the Granville American Legion Post #180, Putnam Community Center or donor’s choice.
Pallbearers will be Zeb Mading, Tyrell Foockle, Lucas Foockle, Jim Turner and Dale Foockle.

Service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 10, 2018 at United Church of Christ, Granville. Rev. Dr. Ron McNeill will officiate. Burial will be in Granville Cemetery, with full military service by Granville American Legion, VFW and Honor Detail from the United States Marine Corps.
Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 9, 2018 at Dysart – Cofoid Funeral Chapel, Granville. Additional visitation will be from 10:30 to 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 10, 2018 prior to the service at the church.
