Albert Lee “Red” Walter, 75 of Standard passed away on Sunday, January 12, 2020 at his residence.
There will be no service at this time. Cremation rites have been accorded. Dysart – Cofoid Funeral Chapel will be assisting the family with the arrangements.
Red was born on December 30, 1944 in Streator to Vernon and Ila (Briner) Walter.
He was the custodian at Riverfront Machine Company the former (S & S Tool and Die Company). Red also worked at National Metalwares for 13 years.
Survivors include: one son, Larry Walter of Hannibal, MO; four daughters, Dawn Rose of Daytona, FL, Tammy Walter of Standard, Diane (Rick) Salyars of Peoria Heights and Tracy Walter of Tremont; two step-sons, Ernest Gallup of Spring Valley and Warren Milford of Ottawa; two brothers, Dennis (Sandy) Walter of Granville and Jim (Pat) Walter of Mark; one sister, Lucille Wyatt of Spring Valley; 14 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two wives, Christine Walter in 1993 and Grace Walter in 2016; two grandsons, one step-daughter and one sister.
