Edward "Lee" Carlson Obituary

Edward “Lee” LeRoy Carlson, 82 passed away on Thursday, September 19, 2019 at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center, Peoria.

Dysart – Cofoid Funeral Chapel will be assisting the family with the arrangements.

Per his request cremation rites have been accorded.  Graveside service will be in Friends Cemetery, McNabb at a later date, with full Military Honors.

Lee was born on January 2, 1937 in Spring Valley to Sigfrid and Mildred (Munson) Carlson.  He married Doris Mowers on July 16, 1983 in Magnolia.

He graduated from John Swaney High School.  Lee also served in the United States Army.  He worked in the brickyard in Sparland for a couple of years.  Lee also worked in the shipping department at Caterpillar in the Mossville Plant for 35 years.  He worked several years for G & J Fertilized in McNabb and he also worked at the McNabb Grain Company for many years. 

Lee was a member of the Magnolia American Legion. He was a former of U.A.W.  member while working at Caterpillar.

Survivors include his wife, Doris Carlson of Magnolia; three daughters, Monica Carlson of Henry, Sherie (Ray) Price of Sparland and Jane (Ken) Wright of East Moline; one son, William Miller of Magnolia; seven grandchildren, Amanda, Samantha, Katie, Jessie, Dalton, William Jr. and Terra.  Also surviving are nine great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the family.
