Francis J. Niewinski

Francis J. Niewinski 91, of Mark passed away on Monday, July 22, 2019 in his home with his son and daughter by his side.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 25, 2019 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Granville.  Fr. J. A. Small will officiate.  Burial will be in Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery in Granville with full military honors.  Fellowship and luncheon at Sacred Heart Hall after services.

Dysart – Cofoid Funeral Chapel will be assisting the family with the arrangements.

Francis was born on February 15, 1928 in Peru to Chester and Genevieve (Narczewski) Niewinski.  He married Rose Marie Ellena on July 18, 1953 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Granville.

He served in the United States Army during the Korean War and was a member of the Granville American Legion.  Francis worked at Westclox in Peru and Mennie’s Machine Company.

Survivors include one son, Frank (Julie) Niewinski of Mark; one daughter, Linda (Bernard Mertes) Beattie of Mark; five grandchildren, Stephen Beattie, Courtney Obermiller, Michael Beattie, Taylor Niewinski and Alex Niewinski and eight great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Rose Marie died on May 28, 2019, two brothers and two sisters.

Pallbearers will be Stephen Beattie, Courtney Obermiller, Michael Beattie, Taylor Niewinski, Alex Niewinski, Frank Niewinski and Mike Obermiller.
