She was a true help mate on the farm, helping with the animals, gardening, canning, making delicious angel food cake, Christmas cookies and candies and strawberry jam. She also helped with the field work, except plowing as Ray thought that it was too hard. She enjoyed entertaining family and friends, playing cards, ballroom and square dancing and collecting various things such as state plates, dolls, beanie babies, pens and pencils and glassware. She loved music and to sing with her children. She had great faith in her Lord and expressed that in her own rendition of the 23rd psalm that was published in the News Tribune.
