Ruth (Morine) Newburn

Ruth Newburn, 86, of Bureau passed away on Tuesday, January 7, 2020 at Perry Memorial Hospital, Princeton.

No service to be held at this time.  Cremation rites have been accorded.  Dysart – Cofoid Funeral Chapel will be assisting the family with the arrangements.

Ruth was born on October 16, 1933 in Hennepin to Alfred and Julia (Henning) Morine.  She married David Newburn on July 4, 1965 in the Hennepin United Methodist Church, Hennepin.

She graduated from Hennepin High School, Northern Illinois University, and Indiana University.  Ruth taught school and worked for years as a social worker for the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services.

Survivors include one son, David Newburn of Bureau; one daughter, Melissa (John) Gathje of Omaha, NE; two grandsons, Jacob and Ben Gathje; one brother, John (Pat) Morine of Buda and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Alfred and Julia Morine; her husband, David Newburn; three sisters and their husbands, Shirley (Franklin) Pearce, Marjorie (Bill) Bruer, and Patricia (Edwin) Hank.
