Alois "Al" J. Wellner, 78, of Hennepin, passed away at his residence on Monday, July 16, 2012. Al was born November 22, 1933 in Joliet, IL the son of Alois and Anna Lasko Wellner Sr. He graduated Joliet Central and worked as a tool and die maker at Plainfield Tool and Engineering. Al married Bernice "Birdy" Biermann on December 10, 1952, she passed away in 2001. Mr. Wellner was a member of Masonic Lodge in Joliet, the Medinah Shriners, he was also a Knight's Templar, a member of the Starved Rock Yaught Club and was an avid plumber and electrician. Al also was a licensed reality broker at Lake Thunderbird area. He was an avid Harley rider and owned numerous motorcycles. Surviving are his sons; Rick (Kathy) Wellner of Chandler, AZ, Harry Wellner of Somanauk, IL. and Brad (Geri) Wellner of Phoenix, AZ. One brother Albin Wellner of Morris, IL. He is also survived by his grandchildren Zack, Nathan, Rick, Erica, Lyndsi, Matt and Bethany. and a great-grand-daughter Nichole. Al was preceded by his wife, two sisters, and a grandson D.J.
