Bernice Loesch, 90, of McNabb passed away on April 28, 2013 at Heartland Health Care Center, Henry. Benny was born on April 18, 1923 in McNabb to Carl and Ruth (Morgensen) Nelson. She married Bill Pletsch in 1942, after Bill passed away, she married Donald Loesch in 1986 in McNabb. She graduated from John Swaney High School. She was a secretary for Marshall-Putnam Soil and Water Conservation District for many years. She was a member of Emmaus Lutheran Church in McNabb. Benny was a member of Edgewood Golf Course and was an avid golfer. She loved to bake for family and friends. She was famous for her Danish layer cake, prune pie and brownies. Surviving are two grandchildren, Jennie Pletsch of Tulsa, Oklahoma and Billy Pletsch of Tahlequah, Oklahoma; two great-grandchildren, William Jr. and Kinzie Pletsch of Tahlequah; one step son, John Loesch of Mossville, two step daughters, Lizabeth Stratton- Higgins of Springfield and Jude (Scott) Clapper of Springfield; nine step-grandchildren, Erin Lovell, Bridget Lovell, Casey, Stephen and Jenny Stratton, Drew Clapper, Nicole Shelton, Katie Ehnle, Michelle Loesch and one son-in-law, Rick Lovell. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two husbands, Leonard "Bill" Pletsch and Donald Loesch; one son, Leonard "Lenny" Pletsch; one daughter, Pamela (Pletsch) Lovell; three brothers, Gordon Nelson, Chuck Nelson, Donald Nelson and one sister, Millie (Nelson) Dyer. Contributions may be directed to donor's choice. Pallbearers will be Aaron Ehnle, Katie Ehnle, Jennie Pletsch, Michael Glenn, Rick Lovell and Dick Ashdown.
Service/Memorial Information
Service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 1, 2013 at Emmaus Lutheran Church, McNabb. Rev. Ann Ziegert will officiate. Burial will be in Friends Cemetery, McNabb. Visitation will be from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 1, 2013 at Emmaus Lutheran Church, McNabb. Dysart - Cofoid Funeral Chapel will be assisting the family with the arrangements.
