Billie Smith Obituary

Billie Marie Smith, 71 of Granville, passed away on May 24, 2012 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center, Peoria. She was born on August 11, 1940 in Peru to William F. and Agnes (Lathrop) Starkey. Billie graduated from Hopkins High School and Illinois Valley Community College of Nursing. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and Fish-n-Fun. She was a registered nurse and worked at various area hospitals and a member of the Christian Daughters of America. She is survived by her mother Agnes Starkey; one daughter, Lisa Janka of LaSalle; two sisters Dorothy Passini of Standard and Donna Jeppson of Mark; two grandchildren, Jermey and Julia. She was preceded in death by her father, one daughter, Dawn, one brother Sonny and one sister, Mary. Contributions may be directed to her family.

Service/Memorial Information

Memorial Mass will be at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, June 1, 2012 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Granville. Fr. Patrick DeMeulemeester will officiate. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery, Granville. Cremation Rites have been accorded. Dysart - Cofoid Funeral Chapel will be assisting the family with the arrangements.
