Brian Grant Obituary

Brian Andrew Grant, 50, of Hennepin died on Tuesday, August 20, 2024 in Harmon, IL.

Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. on Sunday, August 25, 2024 at Dysart – Cofoid Funeral Chapel 208 S. McCoy St. Granville, IL.

Service will be at 10 a.m. on Monday, August 26, 2024 at Dysart – Cofoid Funeral Chapel in Granville with full military honors.  Fr. Paul Meismer will officiate. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery, Granville. 

Brian was born on July 31, 1974 in Princeton, IL to Dale A. Grant and Donna (Copeland) Giudici.

He went to trade school for welding and served in the United States Navy.  Brian worked as a site tech for Green River SFWA.

He was a member of the Granville American Legion Post 180, St. Patrick’s church Padre Pio Prayer Group, and an NRA member. In Brian’s younger years he enjoyed hunting, fishing, and camping with his family. Before fatherhood he liked working on and riding his Harley. He enjoyed playing golf with his brother Gregg, and was a very devoted family man. He loved music, the outdoors, NHRA racing and his “girls”.

He is survived by his mother, Donna (Dave) Giudici of Granville; his partner, Dianna Skowera of Hennepin; two daughters, Alexa Grant of Oglesby and Pearl Grant; brother, Andy Grant, step-brother Joe Giudici, his uncle Tom Grant, Aunt Lois Thater, and numerous cousins with whom he adored childhood shenanigans.

He was preceded in death by his father, Dale A. Grant and his brother, Gregg Bartecki.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to his daughters education fund.

Pallbearers will be Austin Stiles, Mark Anning, Andy Grant, Tommy Grant and Roger Thater, Joe Giudici, Jon Kunzle, and Chris Kunzle.
