Carl Kaatz Obituary

Carl Kaatz 98. of Liberty Village Estates, Peru, passed away on March 1, 2012. Carl was born on Oct. 20, 1913 in rural Varna to Charles and Dorothy (Stubing) Kaatz. He married Opal Bowers Nelson in 1940 in Iowa. She passed away in 2002. Mr. Kaatz farmed his whole life and was a member of the Magnolia Methodist Church, Magnolia Cemetery for over 50 years, Evens Mutual in McNabb, Magnolia Masonic Lodge #103 and Shriners Temple (Modena) in Peoria. Survivors are one son, David (Barbara) of Indiana, one daughter, Nora Richard of LaSalle, one niece, Dorothy Wilson, of McNabb and five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by 2 sisters and 1 son.

Service/Memorial Information

There will be a private memorial service. Cremation rites have been accorded. Dysart - Cofoid Funeral Chapel will be assisting the family with the arrangements. Burial will be in Magnolia Cemetery.
