Charlene Ann Fassino

Charlene Ann Fassino, 93, of Granville died on Tuesday, March 15, 2022, in Lacon, IL.

Charlene was born in Peru IL. on July 8, 1928, the youngest of five daughters to Charles Fitzgerald and Jane (Bower) Fitzgerald.

She is survived by one daughter, Judith Fassino Barlow of Lacon, IL.; and two sons, Jim (Sally) Fassino of Dunlap, IL., and David (Annie) Fassino of St Augusta, MN. She is also survived by seven grandchildren, Elliot Barlow, Roy Rada, Janelle Fassino Harre, Cheryl Fassino Bendtsen, Nicholas Fassino, Emily Fassino, and Marissa Fassino; and four great-grandchildren.

Charlene was preceded in death by her husband Peter Fassino Jr. and son Michael Fassino.

Charlene graduated from LaSalle-Peru High School in 1946. She earned a teaching certificate from LPO College. After graduation, she taught in Standard, IL. Charlene then earned an education degree from ISU. She taught at the Granville grade school for many years. 

Charlene loved to travel, read and was an avid bridge player for over 65 years. She was a longtime member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church Altar and Rosary Society. 

Memorial can be made to the Putnam County Senior Center and the Granville Branch of the Putnam County Library.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 28, 2022 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church.  Fr. Patrick DeMeulemeester will officiate. 

Dysart - Cofoid Funeral Chapel will be assisting the family with the arrangements.
