Charles "Chuck" E Tevis

Charles E. Tevis, 84, of Granville, Passed away Monday, Dec. 31, 2012 in Heartland Healthcare in Henry, IL. He had served in the U.S. Navy Reserves. Chuck was born June 17, 1928 in Goodfield, IL the son of Carl B. and Lucy (Taylor) Tevis. He married Shirley Ann Quiram on April 16, 1950 in St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Benson, IL. She survives along With three sons; Gary and Mary Tevis of Arkansas, Trent and Sue Tevis and Dave and Annetta Tevis of Granville, and also 12 Grandchildren and 16 Great-Grandchildren, and son-in-law Herb Arbuckle. Also surviving are his sisters Mary Hanck, Mamie Hunt, Barb Lippett, Lucy Cormeir, Shirley Eaves, Caroline Byzewski. Chuck was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Sheila Arbuckle; grandson, Joshua Tevis and Granddaughter Amy Jo Arbuckle and four sisters, Eveline Hedburg, Idella Truitt, Violet Phillips and Clara Bonomo. Mr. Tevis was owner of 4-T Agri in Granville for 35 years. He was a member of St. Johns Lutheran Church in Peru. Former Cub Scout Leader, Summer Baseball Coach, served as Past President of the Granville Rotary Club and was a Paul Harris Member. He was also a member of the Elks Lodge in Peru, IL. Memorials may be directed to Alzheimer's Association or to the donors choice.

Service/Memorial Information

Services will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, January 3rd, 2013 at the Dysart-Cofoid Funeral Chapel in Granville with Rev. Tim Kenyon of St Johns. Visitation will be on Thirsday from 9 to 11 a.m. in the funeral chapel. Burial will be at a later date. Cremation rites will be accorded following the service.
