Charles D. Tonozzi, 80 of Granville, died on Sunday, Oct. 14, 2012 at St. Margaret's Hospital, Spring Valley. Charles was born on February 26, 1932 in Ladd, to Bartolomeo and Rosa (Cocchi) Tonozzi. He married Carole Henkins on September 7, 1963 in Ladd. He graduated from Hall High School and attended the University of Illinois. He was a railroad engineer and worked for Milwaukee Road Railroad for 42 years. He also served in the United States Marines. He was a member of the Granville American Legion Post 180 and the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers. Survivors are one son, Chad (Kristin) Tonozzi of Mark; one sister, Catherine Repulski of Peru; two grandsons, Josh and Caleb Tonozzi and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Carole, two brothers, Andrew and Albert and two sisters Lily and Mary. Contributions may be directed to donor's choice. Pallbearers will be Josh Tonozzi, Caleb Tonozzi, Tom Tonozzi, Dawn Conerton, Mike Gonet, Dave Pettit, Steve Hynds and Jim Reno.
Service/Memorial Information
Services will be at 10 a.m. on Thursday, October 18, 2012 at Dysart - Cofoid Funeral Chapel, Granville. Fr. Duane Leclercq will officiate the service. Burial will be in Granville Cemetery with full military honors conducted by the Granville American Legion Post 180 and PC VFW Post 8324. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, October 17, 2012 at Dysart - Cofoid Funeral Chapel, Granville. Rosary will be at 5:45 p.m.
