Charles "Chuck" Berry Obituary

Charles F. "Chuck" Berry, 82 of Hennepin passed away on Thursday, December 26, 2019 at home with his loving family by his side.

Service will be at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, December 31, 2019 at Dysart - Cofoid Funeral Chapel, Granville.  Pastor Deepak Holkar and Pastor Karen Karczewski will officiate. There will be full military honors.  Cremation rites to follow service.

Visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00 pm on Monday, December 30, 2019 at Dysart -Cofoid Funeral Chapel, Granville.  Masonic Service will be held at 7:00 p.m.

Additional visitation will be from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. prior to the service on Tuesday, December 31, 2019 at Dysart – Cofoid Funeral Chapel, Granville.

Chuck was born on May 22, 1937 in Aliquippa, PA to Arthur E. "Jack" and Lois (Paxton) Berry.  He married Donna Gayle Lloyd on March 14, 1959.  They celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary this year.

He graduated from Hopewell High School in the class of 1955.  Chuck served in the United States Army.  Chuck was employed at LTV Steel Plant in Hennepin as quality control supervisor for over 40 years and retired in 1996.

He was a former member on the Hennepin Fire Department, Putnam County Civil Defense and Masonic Lodge #344.  He was a member of the Hennepin United Methodist Church.  He served on the Putnam County Community Center board and was the recipient of the Ageless Achievement Award.  Chuck was honored in 2015 as Hennepin Citizen of the Year.    He was currently serving on the Riverside Cemetery board.  Chuck was also a longtime member at Edgewood Park Golf Club.

Survivors include his wife, Donna Berry of Hennepin; two daughters, Darla (Steve) Harvey of Hennepin and Diana (Rick) Bean of Granville; five grandchildren, Ryan (Kayla) Harvey, Megan (Jordan) Kindred, Ashley Bean, Evan Bean and Connor Bean; three great grandchildren; Benjamin and Adeline Harvey and Ryker Kindred.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Jack Berry, and his in-laws, Evan and Gladys Lloyd.
