David Price Newburn Jr

David Price Newburn Jr., 77, of Bureau and formerly of Granville, died Sunday, February 9, 2014 at St. Mary's Hospital, Streator. He was born on July 8, 1936 in Granville to David Price and Anna Mae (Mc Casson) Newburn. He married Ruth Morine on July 4, 1965 in Hennepin. He was a machine specialist for Motor Wheel Industries in Mendota. He also worked at Capitani's Hardware Store in Granville and for the telephone company. He was a member United Methodist Church in Magnolia and United Auto Workers in Mendota. Survivors include his wife, Ruth Newburn of Bureau; one son David Peter Newburn of Bureau; one daughter, Melissa (John) Gathje of Omaha, Nebraska; one brother James (Dorothy) Newburn of Altamont, Illinois; one brother-in-law, John (Pat) Morine of Buda; two sister-in-laws, Patricia Hank of Henry and Toma Newburn of Peru and two grandchildren, Jacob Andrew Gathje and Benjamin David Gathje. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, Paul, Perry and Don and two sister-in-laws, Shirley Pearce and Marjorie Bruer. Service/Memorial Information

Cremation rites have been accorded. Graveside Service will be at 10 a.m. on Saturday, April 12, 2014 at Riverside Cemetery, Hennepin. Rev. Carol Stufflebeam will officiate. Dysart - Cofoid Funeral Chapel in Granville, will be in charge of the arrangements.
