Deno Orlandi Obituary

Deno Orlandi, 100, of Mark, IL, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 26, 2012 at St. Margaret's Hospital. Deno was born on April 9, 1912, the fourth son of Angelica (Baldini) and Ricardo Orlandi, in Dalzell, IL. Deno graduated from Dalzell elementary school. As a young man, Deno worked on various farms in the area and later in the coal mines of Illinois. Deno married Mary Venturelli on September 29, 1935. They celebrated seventy years of marriage. Mary preceded him in death in April 2006. He is survived by his daughters Donna (Jim) Holevoet and Norma (Al) Mansfield. Five grandchildren; Angela (Spencer) Klaassen, William (Kiyoko) Holevoet, Joseph (Jo Lea) Holevoet, Michael (Becky) Ublish and Doreen (Diane) Ublish and six great grandchildren; Hannah, Henry, Shinju Grace, Kayli, Jenna and Braden. Deno and Mary moved to Mark in 1941, where Deno established Orlandi Service Station for thirty-two years. He also worked for the Orsinger Bakery, American Nicheloid, the State of Illinois Drivers License division and Lake Thunderbird Association. Deno was a member of the Mark Fire Department, Sacred Heart Catholic Church and Holy Name Society. Both Deno and Mary enjoyed dancing and their cottage in Wisconsin.

Service/Memorial Information

The Dysart-Cofoid Funeral Chapel in Granville is assisting the family and cremation rites were accorded, per request. Memorial Mass will be held Saturday, December 29th, 2012 at 10 a.m. in Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Granville. A Private immediate family burial will be held later.
