Donald H. Fiedler, 69 of Spring Valley passed away on April 5, 2012 at Perry Memorial Hospital. Don was born on December 29, 1942 in Spring Valley to Howard and Esther (Hartman) Fiedler. He married Phyllis Gearica and later married his current wife Mary Krogulski on October 11, 2005. Don was an entrepreneur in many fields. From owning and operating his own trucking company to greeting his friends and customers at his businesses the House of Powder in Standard, the Sudden Stop Saloon in Spring Valley and the Second Chance Saloon in Granville. Don was also a great friend to many charitable organizations including the Putnam County Food Pantry, Toys for Tots and the Standard Fire and Rescue Department. He was also a member of several car and motorcycle enthusiast clubs dating back to the Illinois Valley Headers in the late 1950's. He was a great collector of antiques and loved showing people his vast collection of cars, trucks, motorcycles and vintage toys. He is survived by his wife Mary, two sons, Jim Fiedler of China and Robert (Karen) Fiedler of Jasper, Tenn.; two daughters, Ann (Bill) Drennen of Standard and Pam (Bill) Schmollinger of Dalzell; one step daughter, Alicia (Clay) Huettemann of Peru; one sister Mary Ann Mudge of Texas and nine grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents. Donations may be directed to the Putnam County Food Pantry.

A Time of Reminiscing will be at 7 p.m. on Monday, April 9, 2012 at Dysart - Cofoid Funeral Chapel, Granville. Cremation rites will be accorded following the service. Visitation from 5 to 7 p.m. on Monday April 9, 2012 at Dysart - Cofoid Funeral Chapel, Granville.
