Obituary
Edward H. Weide, 91, of Lostant (Mt. Palatine) passed away on Saturday, July 8, 2023 at his residence.
The family will have a service at a later date. Cremation rites have been accorded. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery in Mt. Palatine with military honors.
Dysart – Cofoid Funeral Chapel will be assisting the family with the arrangements.
Edward was born on March 26, 1932 in Granville Township to John W. and Beatrice (Happold) Weide. He married Helen Irwin on June 7, 1958 in Mt. Palatine.
He graduated from John Swaney High School and served in the United States Army from 1953 to 1955.
He was a self employed farmer. He was a member of McNabb-Magnolia American Legion and the farm bureau.
Survivors include his wife, Helen Weide of Lostant (Mt. Palatine); two sons, Edward J. (Joy) Weide of Magnolia and Christopher (Cassie) Weide of Magnolia; one daughter Patricia (Bruce) Harrison of McNabb; seven grandchildren, Michelle (Tony) Pashos, Krista (Skylar) Long, Nichole (Andrew) Ebener, Matthew Weide, Derek Weide, Myranda Weide, Michael Weide and seven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters and two brothers.
In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or St. Jude.
