Edwin L. Sieg

Edwin "Butch" L. Sieg, 68, of Mark died Thursday, May 1, 2014 at Illinois Valley Community Hospital, Peru surrounded by his family. Edwin was born on March 2, 1946 in LaSalle to Alfonse and Evelyn (Werhonovich) Sieg. He married Linda Skaggs on September 14, 1968 in Sheffield. He was a crane operator at LTV Steel Mill. He was a member of Past Steel Works Union. He served in the United States Marine Corps from 1963-1967 with 2 tours in Vietnam. Survivors are his wife Linda of Mark; three daughters, Mona (John) Miles of LaSalle, Antonia Pelszynski of Paxton and Jessica Sieg of Granville; three brothers, Randy Sieg of LaSalle, Larry Sieg of Spring Valley and Kenny (Patti) Sieg of Peru; two sisters, Arlene Walker of Mark and Marilyn Sienkiewicz of LaSalle; eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and one sister. Contributions may be directed to St. Jude's or Ronald Mc Donald House, Louisville Chapter. Pallbearers will be his grandchildren; Courtney Miles, Vanessa (James) Wills, Darrel Miles, Austin Pelszynski, Falon Pelszynski, Xavier Warren, Lydia Warren, and Martin Warren Jr.

Service/Memorial Information

Visitation from 4 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, May 7, 2014 at Dysart - Cofoid Funeral Chapel, Granville. Full military burial rites and mass will take place at Sacred Heart Catholic Church at a later date open to all who would like to attend. Fr. Patrick DeMeulemeester will officiate.
