Emily L. Morris, 85 of Amboy passed away on Thursday, March 6, 2025 at St. OSF Katherine Medical Center, Dixon, IL.

Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on April 12, 2025 at Paw Paw United Methodist Church 370 Wiley Street, Paw Paw, IL with the service to follow at 11 a.m.  Pastor David Hamer will officiate.  Cremation rites have been accorded.  

Dysart – Cofoid Funeral Chapel will be assisting the family with the arrangements.

Emily was born on June 1, 1939 in Table Grove, IL to Cecil and Geraldyne (Warner) Hoover.  She married Phillip Morris on April 27, 2003.

She was a waitress for 50 years at “Country Cup” in Lisle, IL where she was affectionately known as “Mom”.  She enjoyed doing puzzles and spending time with her grandchildren Timmy, Michael, and Holly and great grandchildren Mason and Patty.

Survivors include her husband, Phillip Morris of Amboy; one son, Jeffrey L. Reed of Amoy, IL; one daughter, Rhonda R. Luther of Westmont, IL; Two brothers, Jay Edgar Hoover of Haslet, Texas, Larry D. Hoover of Kingston, IL; three sisters, Bonnie Hunt of Lombard, IL, Patricia Pfoutz of Sandy, Utah, Celia Haub of West Brooklyn, IL.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Leona Baker and Joanne Politsch; four brothers, Charles Hoover, Rodney Hoover, Norman Hoover and Gerald Hoover.
