Eva F. Dose

Eva F. Dose, 95, of Mt. Palatine, died on Thursday, January 8, 2015 at OSF Saint Francis Hospital, Peoria. Eva was born on July 27, 1919 to John and Katherine (Friez) Thenikl in Newaygo, Mich. She was the youngest of 10 children who all preceded her in death; Theresa Engelhaupt, Mary, John, Frank, Anthony, Baby, Anna Fitzgerald, Rose Strutzel and Henry. Eva married Lloyd Billups in 1940 and lived in Magnolia where they farmed and had a trucking business. Lloyd was killed in a fatal truck accident in 1963. Eva then married Clarence Dose in 1964 and lived in Mt. Palatine where they farmed, Clarence passed away in 1998. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and a former member of Mt. Palatine Catholic Church and is an active member of it's Altar and Rosary Society. She was the first mayor in Putnam County from 1963 to 1964 in Magnolia and a member of the Illinois Sheriff Association and Marshall Putnam Farm Bureau. Surviving is one daughter Karen Billups Holmstrom; six grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and 23 great great- grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two husbands; one son, Thomas; one grandson, Scott Thomas; four sisters and five brothers. Contributions may be directed to Sacred Heart Catholic Church and Magnolia Fire Department or Putnam County EMS. Service/Memorial Information

Mass of Christian Burial at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, January 12, 2015 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Granville. Fr. Patrick DeMeulemeester will officate. Burial will be in Magnolia Cemetery. Visitation will be from 12 noon to 1:30 p.m. on Monday, January 12, 2015 at Dysart - Cofoid Funeral Chapel, Granville.
