Floyd B. Holocker Sr., 87 of Hennepin, died Saturday, October 12, 2013 at St. Margaret's Hospital in Spring Valley, IL. Floyd was born August 21, 1926 in Spring Bay, IL, the son of Eddie Edward and Catherine (Fuchs) Holocker. He married Ethel Jeppson on May 4, 1947 in Magnolia. She passed away Nov. 30, 2007. Floyd and his wife owned and operated Squirrel Lake Resort in Wisc. and Holocker's Tree Farm. Floyd was a WW II Veteran serving his country in the U.S. Army. He is survived by four children, Bill (Mary Lynn) Holocker of Ladd, Diane (Bill) Kuhne of Hennepin, "Buzz" Floyd (Susan) Holocker of Granville and Gary Holocker (and Mary Ann Jennings) of McNabb. Also surviving are 13 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and a special friend Mary T. Bence. Floyd was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, one brother - Harvey Holocker Sr., one sister - Rena Briner, two grandsons - Troy and Bradley. Pallbearers will be Jeff, Aaron, B.J., Seth Holocker, Bill Kuhne Jr. and Brian Kuhne. Memorials may be made to the donor's choice.
Service/Memorial Information
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, October 15, 2013. at the Dysart - Cofoid Funeral Chapel in Granville. Rev. Carol Stufflebeam will officiate. Burial will be in the Granville Cemetery where military rites will be conducted. Visitation will be Tuesday from 9 until services in chapel.
