George Cimei Obituary

George Cimei, 87, of McNabb, died on Friday, December 5, 2014 at his residence with his loving family by his side. George was born on September 14, 1927 in Chicago to Alfred and Carmella (Vespa) Cimei. He married Betty King on July 1, 1950 in Macomb. He served in the United States Navy during WWII where he was a mine sweeper. He worked in packaging and shipping at Owens Glass. George was a member of Magnolia American Legion, Putnam County Community Center. He was Trustee for Caledonia Cemetery. He also coached the girl's softball team in McNabb. Surviving are, four sons, John (Kathy) Cimei of McNabb; Tony (Diane) Cimei of McNabb; George (Pam) Cimei of Varna; and Randy (Debbie) Cimei of Williamsfield; one daughter, Shelly (Larry) Erjavsek of rural Cedar Point. Also surviving are Jeff (Connie) King of Granville and Tim (Michele) King of LaSalle; one brother, Bill Cimei of Florida; 12 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Betty on June 20, 2014, three brothers and one sister. Contributions may be directed to Putnam County Ambulance or Putnam County Food Pantry. Service/Memorial Information

Service will be at 12 noon on Tuesday, December 9, 2014 at Dysart - Cofoid Funeral Chapel, Granville. Pastor Karen Karczewski will officiate. Burial will be in Magnolia Cemetery with full military honors. Visitation will be from 10 to 12 noon on Tuesday, December 9, 2014 at Dysart - Cofoid Funeral Chapel, Granville.
