Gladys Marie Moews

Gladys Marie Simpson Moews, 94, of rural Granville, died on Friday, December 26, 2014 at Manor Court, Peru. Gladys was born on May 19, 1920 in Spring Valley to George Sydney and Alice Marie (Lamb) Simpson. She married Bernhardt Eustus Moews on January 20, 1943. He died on December 29, 1950. She graduated from Hopkins High School and attended People's Hospital Nursing Program. Her husband, B.E. Moews founded Moews Seed Company and upon his death Gladys became co-owner and operator of the Company. Surviving is one daughter, Bettina Moews of Granville and one niece, Mary Jane Kidd of Pennsylvania. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband. Contributions may be directed to Putnam County Ambulance, Standard Fire and Rescue, Putnam County Sheriff's Department, Putnam County Historical Society or Donor's Choice. Pallbearers will be A.J. Service/Memorial Information

Funeral service will be private. Rev. Roger Helgren will officiate. Burial will be in Granville Cemetery. Public visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, December 30, 2014 at Dysart - Cofoid Funeral Chapel, Granville.
