John Cole Obituary

On February 25, 2015 at 4 p.m., John Kenneth Cole, 58, of Spring Valley left this world peacefully and entered his home in heaven, because he trusted in Jesus Christ as his Lord and personal Savior. John was born June 8, 1956 in La Crosse, Wisconsin, to Margie Fairbanks of Spring Valley and Richard Cole, deceased. On May 1, 1976, in San Jose, IL, he married his high school sweetheart, Melody Davis. They were best friends for 38 years. Because of this love, God blessed them with three wonderful sons, Tim (Amery Ziel) Cole, Jason (Kelly Perryman) Cole both of Ottawa, Justin (Annie Bogatitus) Cole of Spring Valley. He also has six amazing grand-children, Teagan, Ryker, Kendal, Camryn, Landon, and Ava, who lighted up his world! John worked for Machinery Maintenance in La Salle for 27 years. Almost everyday he would say, "I love my job!" The guys he worked with were like brothers to him. John's famous phrase was "Don't tell me, show me." This is how he lived his life. With family and friends his actions spoke louder than words. He was always available to help anyone when needed. He was a member of Shooting Park Road Baptist Church, Peru, IL. John is survived by his wife, three sons, six grand-children, his mother, brother, Rick Cole of Seatonville, and sister Ruth Pritchard of Spring Valley. He was preceded in death by his father Richard Cole and stepfather Leroy Fairbanks. Pallbearers will be Jim Davis, Bob Crew, Don Kotecki, Eric Davis, Bill Wood and Paul Sandrolini. Memorials may be directed to Cops for Cancer. Online condolences may be directed to his family at www.dcfunerals.com
