John A. Morine, 86, of Buda (formerly of Hennepin) passed away on Tuesday. December 17, 2024 at Liberty Village, in Princeton.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 12 noon on Monday, December 23, 2024 at Dysart – Cofoid Funeral Chapel, 208 S. McCoy St. Granville, IL.
Service will be at 12 noon following the visitation at the funeral home. Benjamin Forester will officiate. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Hennepin.
John was born on April 27, 1938 in Spring Valley to Alfred M. and Julia B. (Henning) Morine. He married Patricia A. Roth on April 9, 1961 in Hennepin.
He graduated from Hennepin High School and was owner and operator of a grain and livestock enterprise in Buda. John has raised Black Galloway Cattle since he was fifteen.
He was a member of the Marshall-Putnam County Farm Bureau and its farm management committee; commissioner of Hennepin Drainage and Levee District; director of the Magnolia Mutual Insurance Company; Noble Grand of the Hennepin I.O.O.F. Lodge #118; trustee of the Hennepin Township Board of Directors; and former chairman of the Hennepin United Methodist Church Board. He was also a 50 year member of Oddfellows.
Survivors include his wife, Patricia Morine of Buda; their three children, Gregory (Julie) Morine of Hennepin, Kimberly (Ken Criser) Morine of Bella Vista, Arkansas and Geoffrey (Denise) Morine of Granville; two grandchildren, Stephen Morine of Princeton and Emilie Morine of Hennepin.
