Joseph "Joe" S. Boggio Sr., 78 of Hennepin, passed away on Wednesday, November 28, 2012 at Manor Court, Peru. He was born on January 6, 1934 to Frank and Theresa Boggio. He married Rose Louise Chiavario on May 28, 1955 in Peoria. He graduated from Hennepin High School and served in the United States Army during the Korean War and received numerous medals. He farmed and was owner and operator of Boggio's Country Market. He was a member of Hennepin American Legion Post. He was an avid train collector and built numerous buildings for the train settings. He also built each one of his children and grandchildren a barn like the buildings he made for his train set. Survivors are four sons, Joseph Boggio Jr. of Hennepin, Bruce Boggio of Oregon, Keith (Denise) Boggio of Granville and Vince Boggio of Hennepin; three daughters, Cindy (Bill) Migliorini of Granville, Mary (Mark) Judd of Hennepin and Kris (Dan) Trone of McNabb; one sister, Betty (John) Brokaw of Tiskilwa. Also eighteen grandchildren and seven great - grandchildren and a special niece, Lori Mrosko. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Rose; two grandchildren and two brothers. Contributions may be directed to donor's choice. Pallbearers will be Brandon Boggio, Joseph "Max" Boggio, Joseph Migliorini, Jason Judd, Keith Boggio Jr., Andrew Boggio, Adam Boggio, Miles McFadin, and Carter Trone.
Service/Memorial Information
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, December 4, 2012 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Hennepin. Fr. Patrick DeMeulemeester will officiate. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery, Granville, with full military honors. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. on Monday, December 3, 2012 at Dysart - Cofoid Funeral Chapel. There will also be a visitation on Tuesday, prior to the service from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at the church.
