Joyce Hayes Obituary

Joyce Marie Hayes, 97, of Hennepin passed away on Monday, April 22, 2024 at her residence.

Joyce was born in Eureka, Montana on August 17, 1926 to George and Edna (Price) Gasahl.

Joyce was a registered LPN and worked many years as a nurse in People’s Hospital and various nursing homes in Illinois and Missouri. She was a member of Quilt Club.

She was married to Charles Zielinski and later married Densil Hayes who preceded her in death.

She is survived by her daughters, JoAnn Livesay of Oglesby, Edna Olson of Hennepin, and Connie (Mark) Kudela of Oglesby; grandchildren, Michael (Wendy) Preiser of Oregon, Dale (Beth) Preiser of Georgia, Nicole (Keith) Piano of Oglesby and Joe (Frauke) Kudela of Oglesby; great grandchildren, Hannah Preiser, Amelia Preiser, Thomas Preiser, Charles Preiser, Kole Piano, Karmen Piano, Calvin Kudela and McCellan Laherty.

She was preceded in death by her husband Densil Hayes, grandson William Olson, great granddaughter Emily Rose Preiser, sisters Dorothy Swaby and Lila Bolen.

Memorial service will be held at a later date. Cremation rites have been accorded.

Dysart – Cofoid Funeral Chapel will be assisting the family with the arrangements.
