Joyce L. Vulcani

Joyce L. Vulcani, 69, of Hennepin passed away on Sunday, February 17, 2013 with her loving family by her side. Joyce was born on December 30, 1943 in LaSalle to Frank and Ann (Kozel) Kastigar. She married Dennis Vulcani on November 19, 1966 in St. Roch's, LaSalle. She graduated from Northern Illinois University with a bachelor's degree, and received her Master's degree in Education from Illinois State University. She also attended graduate school at the University of Northern Colorado and Memphis State University. She was a wonderful wife and mother. She retired from teaching in LaSalle Peru High School after 30 years. Joyce and her husband also owned and operated Rolando's Supper Club in Hennepin for 30 years. She was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Hennepin. Survivors are her husband, Dennis Vulcani of Hennepin; two daughters, Karen Vulcani (James Bohne) of Hennepin and Julie Vulcani (Joe Edwards) of Petoskey, Mich. and two grandsons. She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister, Patricia and one brother Frank. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be directed to St. Jude. Pallbearers will be Julie Enzenberger, Terry Lane, Damian Grivetti, Bud Friel, Vince Menendez and James Bohne.

Service/Memorial Information

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, February 20, 2012 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Hennepin. Fr. Patrick DeMeulemeester will officiate. Burial will be in St. Anthony's Catholic Cemetery, Hennepin. Visitation will be from 9 to 11 a.m. on Wednesday, February 20, 2013 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Hennepin.
