Kathleen Lynn Walter

Kathleen Lynn Walter (Washkowiak), 53 of Oglesby, was born Jan 14, 1959 and went to be with the Lord on Nov. 30, 2012 at her residence with her family by her side. Kathleen was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Henry, IL where she taught Sunday School, was in the choir and served on many committees, Kathy was a member of the PCEF Board on the special events and scholarship committees that served the students of Putnam County Schools. Kathy regularly shared her considerable musical and theatrical talents at numerous PCEF shows. Kathy also served on the board for River Valley Players and Mr. Manahan's Summer Playhouse where she also shared musical and acting talents. Kathleen managed the One Hour National Drycleaners for many years and also worked as a CNA and loved to paint. Kathy was also manager and part owner of the Men's Emporium in LaSalle. Kathy is a loving wife, mother, grandmother and was a true friend to many, many people to know her was to love her. Kathy was preceded in death her mother (Betty Washkowiak) and sister Melanie Beckerleg. Kathy is survived by her husband Gerald, daughter Dani Zellmer (Ryley Bunzell), her grandson Joey Bunzell, her father Wayne (Vicki) Washkowiak, brother Mike (Cindy) Washkowiak and Chris Washkowiak, also nieces and nephews. Every life she touched was with love and kindness; she made this world a better place to live in.

Service/Memorial Information

Services will be held on Wednesday, Dec. 5, 2012 at 10:30 a.m. in the United Church of Christ (UCC) in Granville. Memorials may be made to the Donors Choice. Per her request, cremation rites have been accorded. Visitation will be held at the Dysart - Cofoid Funeral Chapel in Granville on Tuesday, Dec. 4, 2012 from 4 to 7 p.m.
