Marilyn L. Somers

Marilyn L. Somers, 68 of Granville passed away on July 1, 2012 in Granville. Marilyn was born on March 1, 1944 in Luverne, Minn. to Hans P. and Gladys (Swenson) Christensen. She married Robert Somers on September 14, 1968 in Kewanee, Ill. She was a beautician for 20 years and was a special education teacher's aid at Putnam County School District for 18 years. She was a member of Oglesby Union Church. She is survived by her husband, Robert Somers of Granville; two sons, Chad L. Somers of Sheboygan, Wisc. and Cory J. Somers of Granville; one brother, Norman "Pete" Christensen of Hopewell Estates; five sisters, Becky Roberts of Estes Park, CO, Christy Kloostra of Dallas, Texas, Launa Mongold of Luverne, Minn., Joanne Cortez of Colorado Springs, CO; and Karen Christensen of Peru; three granddaughters, Hayli Somers, Mckenzie Somers and Trinity Somers. She was preceded in death by her parents, and one sister Judy. Contribution may be directed to Putnam County Rescue Squad or Oglesby Union Church.

Service/Memorial Information

Memorial Service will be at 3 p.m. on Saturday, July 14, 2012 at Dysart - Cofoid Funeral Chapel, Granville. Cremation rites have been accorded. Visitation is from 2 to 3 p.m. on Saturday, July 14, 2012 at Dysart - Cofoid Funeral Home, Granville.
