Mary Alice (Paxson) Morris

Mary Alice (Paxson) Morris, 90, of Lacon (formerly of Hennepin) passed away on Friday, October 15, 2021 at the Lacon Rehab and Nursing Home (St Joseph’s), Lacon.

Graveside service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, November 5, 2021 at Riverside Cemetery, Hennepin.  Fr. Patrick DeMeulemeester officiating.  Cremation rites have been accorded.

The Dysart-Cofoid Funeral Chapel is assisting the family.

She was born on January 16, 1931 in Oak Park, IL to Edwin and Mary (Donlan) Paxson.  She married David E. Morris on March 24, 1951.

Mary graduated from Hennepin High School in 1949.  She worked at Boyle-Goldsmith as legal secretary and as Hennepin Village Clerk.  She enjoyed traveling and visited numerous countries and also enjoyed reading.

Survivors include sons, David (Sherry) Morris of Granville, Brian Morris of Granville, Mike and Pat Morris of Hennepin, Steve Morris of Granville and Kevin (Richelle) Morris of Michigan; sister-in-law, Barbara Paxson of Hennepin and brother-in-law, Phil (Emily) Morris of Amboy.  Also surviving are grandchildren and great-grandchildren and 2 nieces.

Contributions may be made to Putnam County Community Center, Standard or Friends of Strays, Princeton.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Tim; her husband, David and one brother, Ed “Buzz” Paxson.
