Michael Francis Boyd, 52, of Mark passed away on Sunday, November 19, 2023, at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center, Peoria.
Visitation will be from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, November 24, 2023, at Dysart - Cofoid Funeral Chapel, 208 S McCoy St., Granville, IL.
Services will be at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 25, 2023, at the funeral home. Pastor Gabrial Hilleson will officiate. Burial will be at Granville Cemetery.
Michael was born on June 15, 1971, in Peru to Larry Boyd and Dixie (Gaull) Cady. He married Yolanda Medina on March 13, 2021. Paul Williams officiated the service at Cedar Creek Ranch, Cedar Point.
Michael was a conductor and locomotive engineer for over 20 years at CSX Railroad. He was a member of the Putnam County Community Church in Granville. He enjoyed spending time at Cedar Creek Ranch and loved doing outdoor activities, especially hunting and fishing. It didn’t matter whether or not he caught a fish or saw any wildlife, he would always say it is a good day when you can spend the day in the timber or sitting in a boat. Michael was a jack-of-all-trades, constantly engaging in various projects involving cars, woodworking, and yard work. He loved traveling and enjoyed being surrounded by family and friends. His greatest blessings were his daughters, his wife, and his pup. He lived a short life, but a good life and put smiles on the faces of so many people.
Survivors include his wife Yolanda Boyd of Mark; his father, Larry (Debra) Boyd of Green Castle, Mo; his mother Dixie Cady of Cedar Point; his maternal grandmother, Betty Gaull of Oglesby; two daughters, Molly Irene Boyd of Hennepin and Mikenna May Boyd of Hennepin; four sisters, Michelle Boyd Ichikawa of Hawaii, Donna Wagner (Jim), of Aurora, Julie Linn of Oglesby and Rebecca Tejumola (Buks); one uncle, Gary Bruno and Judy Myer of Granville; beloved Aunts Theresa Boyd of Granville and Janice Bruno of Mark; his dog and best buddy Frankie, and numerous nieces and nephews and cousins.
