Morris (Muttsie) Gordon, 93, of Granville, Illinois, passed away January 3, 2012 surrounded by his loving family. He was born on January 14, 1918 in Granville, where he lived his entire life. Son of the late Philip and Flora Gordon, Morris was preceded in death by his four brothers and three sisters, and leaves behind his devoted wife of 65 years, Lillian (Lolly) Gordon. Morris served in World War II as a Military Police Officer in the U.S. Army from 1942-1945. He married his wife Lillian Jacobs of Chicago in 1946. He was known in his community for being a kind and loving husband and father who ran his family's business, Gordon's Produce, for more than 50 years. Morris was also a member of Temple B'nai Moshe in LaSalle. He is survived by his four children, son Louis Gordon and daughter-in-law Deborah of Naperville; daughter Judy and son-in-law Gary Connor of Valparaiso, IN; son Richard Gordon of Naperville; and daughter Renita and son-in-law Mike Miller of Oswego. Morris took great enjoyment spending time with his 11 grandchildren and four great grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the National Parkinson Foundation (www.parkinson.org).
Service/Memorial Information
A memorial service honoring Morris will be held on Thursday, January 5th, at 11:00 am at the Ottawa Jewish Cemetery off of Route 23 and McKinley Road in Ottawa. Dysart - Cofoid Funeral Chapel in Granville, will be assisting the family with the arrangements.
