Norman Delicath Obituary

Norman Delicath, 87, of McNabb, IL died Monday, March 24, 2014, at the Veteran's Home of LaSalle Illinois. Norman served four years in the US Navy. He retired from Caterpillar in Oct. 1989. Norm was a member of the UCC Church, Fish and Fun and McNabb American Legion. He was also a volunteer Red Coat at St. Margaret's Hospital. He was born in Peoria, IL on November 5, 1926 to Christian and Alma (Schoch) Delicath. He married Betty Fay on April 22, 1989 at the UCC Church, Granville. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Lois Beavers, his brothers, Raymond and Melvin and his sister, Yvonne Lofton. Surviving are his wife Betty Fay, whom he married on April 22, 1989, his 4 children, Melody (Skip) Jones of Morton, IL, Bonnie (Richard) Langan of Spring, TX, Steven (Christy) Delicath of of Morton, IL, Timothy (Lisa) Delicath of St. Charles, MO; his 5 step children, Michael Fay of Hennepin, IL, Richard Fay of Peru, IL, and Harold (Amy) Fay of Hennepin, IL, Cheri (Charles) Judd of Hennepin, IL and Nancy (Dave) Piccinelli of Henry, IL. Also surviving are 14 grandchildren, 11 step-grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren, 16 step-great grand children and 1 great-great grandchild. Memorial contributions may be made to the UCC Church, St. Margaret's Hospice, LaSalle Veterans Home or to Putnam County Senior Center in Standard. Service/Memorial Information

Funeral Services will be conducted, Saturday, March 29, 2014 at 11 am at the UCC Church in Granville. Rev. Dr. Ron McNeill will officiate. The family will receive friends and family at the UCC Church in Granville prior to the funeral services from 9 to 11 am. A luncheon will be served at Bonucchi Hall at the church immediately following the services. Burial with military honors will be at the Lacon City Cemetery in Lacon at 2:30.
