Patricia L. Houghton

Patricia L. Houghton, 88, of Granville passed away on Friday, January 9, 2026 at Goldwater Care Spring Valley.

Visitation will be from 9 to 11 a.m. on Saturday, January 17, 2026 at Dysart – Cofoid Funeral Chapel 208 S McCoy St. Granville, IL.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. following the visitation at the funeral home.   Rev. Bill Jacobsen will officiate.  Burial will be in Chillicothe Cemetery, Chillicothe, IL.

Patricia was born on December 4, 1937 in Chicago to Clarence and Evelyn (Kuhnle) Jones.  She married Eugene Houghton on May 25, 1956 in Chicago, IL.

She was secretary to the President of Rotary International and was a Sunday school teacher for over 50 years.  She enjoyed doing needlepoint, cooking and reading books and the bible.

Survivors include her husband, Eugene Houghton; son, Kenneth (Kim) Houghton; grandchildren, Paul (Andrea) Diestelow, Daniel Carrasquillo; great grandchildren, Blake Diestelow, Jasmine Parker and Xavier Parker. Also surviving are numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Pamela Carrasquillo; great granddaughter, Brianna Diestelow; brother, Bill Jones (Doris); sister, Jeannette Brantley and brother, Frank Jones.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Foundation.

Pallbearers will be Kenneth Houghton, Craig Crackenberger, Jose Carrasquillo, Keith Jones, Elijah Jones and Paul Diestelow.
