Peggy Ritz Obituary

Peggy Lee Ritz, 71, of LaSalle passed away on Monday, March 10, 2025 in her home.  Cremation rites have been accorded per her request.  A celebration of life will be held at a later date.  Dysart-Cofoid Funeral Chapel will be assisting the family with the arrangements.

Peggy was born on July 8, 1953 in Peoria to George and Virginia Green.  She married Daniel Ritz on March 6, 1993 at Hennepin United Methodist Church.

She graduated from Putnam County High School and later attended beauty school to become a hairdresser.  She held many jobs throughout her life including working as a waitress at her mom’s restaurant which she loved, running a daycare in her home, and working as a job coach at Horizon Industries.  She loved the children she cared for in her daycare and the clients from her days at Horizon Industries.  She would often bring clients to her home for a meal and to play card games.  This was a wonderful example to set for her own children of inclusion of all people.  She was an animal lover, especially her two little dogs, Leonardo and Becca Rose.  She is now reunited with Leonardo in Heaven.  She had a heart of gold and would give to those less fortunate throughout her life.   She was also grateful to those who helped her, especially her friend and neighbor, Theresa.  She had many hobbies throughout her life…stamping, scrapbooking, and counted cross stitch to name a few.  She really enjoyed a great laugh with family and friends.

She loved her family with all her heart.  Survivors include her husband, Daniel Ritz; two daughters, Patrice (Dennis) Stadler and Sonya Baran; seven grandchildren, Mars (Andrew) Subola, Ashley Stadler, Hannah Stadler, Shelby (Sean) Fitzgerald, Tanner (Frankie Dawson) Stout, Lucas Baran, and Savoy Baran; and three great grandchildren; one brother, Steve Green and one sister, Laurie Judd.

She was preceded in death by her parents.
