Pierce David "Dave" O'Connor, 83 of Hennepin, died Sunday, July 6, 2014 at his residence with his family by his side. Dave was born on November 11, 1930 in Spring Valley to Pierce "P.D." and Francis (Bonges) O'Connor. He married his high school sweetheart, Emma Stewartson on July 26, 1952 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Hennepin. They have been happily married for 62 years. He attended St. Bede Academy and graduated from Hennepin High School. He later graduated from IVCC College in 1972 Cum Laude. He served in the United States Army. He was a rural mail carrier for the United States Postal Service for 30 years and he also farmed. He had been a active member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church for many years. Survivors are his wife, Emma of Hennepin; two sons, Mike (Nancy) O'Connor of Hennepin and Tom (Susan) O'Connor of Plano, Texas; sister-in-law, Meriam (Elmer) Frohardt of Madison, Wisconsin; six grandchildren, Amy (Todd) Heer, Pete (Brandi) O'Connor, Chad (Lisa) Errio, Karie (Dan) Rosolowski, Jarrod (Claire) O'Connor and Victoria Errio; and eight great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, James and John O'Connor. In lieu of flowers contributions may be directed to St. Patrick's Catholic Church, St. Margaret's Hospice or Mayo Clinic Research or Donor's Choice. Pallbearers will be Pete O'Connor, Dan Rosolowski, Chad Errio, Jarrod O'Connor, Todd Heer, Butch Van Keulen and Dave Mallory. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, July 9, 2014 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Hennepin. Fr. Patrick DeMeulemeester will officiate. Burial will be in St. Anthony's Catholic Cemetery, Hennepin. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, July 8, 2014 at Dysart - Cofoid Funeral Chapel, Granville. Prayers will be at 7:00 p.m.
