Ronald Migliorini Obituary

Ronald “Papa” R. Migliorini, age 86, went to be with the Lord, surrounded by family on his farm in Minooka, IL, on Thursday, February 10, 2022.

Ronald was born February 26, 1935 in Mark, IL, to Ameday and Margaret (Novak) Migliorini. He met his loving wife, Marlene Fiedler, in 1952 at Hopkins High School. They were married at Countyline Lutheran Church on November 5, 1955. That same year, he began his hardworking legacy at Alexander Lumber from Granville, IL, to Compton, IL, to Cuba, IL, and ending his 47 year career in Joliet, IL. During his time with Alexander he built new lumber yards in Cuba and Joliet. Also, he started serving our country in the Army National Guard in 1957. Throughout 66 years of marriage, Ron and Marlene devoted their lives to raising three children, followed by numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.

In 1972, Ron and Marlene built the “Migo’s Meadows” family farm, where he enjoyed spending most of his time working outside, with his animals, planting trees, fishing in the pond and working around his garden with his children and grandchildren alongside him. Together, Ron and Marlene enjoyed riding motorcycles, traveling and camping in their RV’s, boating, snowmobiling, hunting, fishing and riding in horse shows. Ron was always playfully teasing and a prankster to the ones he loved. He was well known to never miss a grandchild’s school or sporting event. He taught his grandchildren how to hunt, fish, fix anything, and how to be a hard worker. Ron has impacted so many lives with his big heart, love for family, and faithfulness in the Lord. He will continue to be the greatest role model to his loved ones and dearly missed.

Ron was a member of the Plattville Lutheran Church, the Okeechobee Florida American Legion, the Grundy County Gun Club and Spring Valley Boat Club.  He was also a member of the Morris Moose Lodge where he received a 50 year membership award.  Ron was a volunteer firefighter for the Cuba Fire Department in Cuba, IL.

Survivors include his loving wife, Marlene and three children; Vikki (Greg) Swanson, Ricky (Dawn) Migliorini and Ronalee (Bill) VanAsdlen; grandchildren, Danielle Malone, Adam Migliorini, Desiree Swanson, Brett (Melissa) VanAsdlen, Brooke (Daniel) Cooper, Brock (fiancee Rylie) VanAsdlen, and Brad VanAsdlen: great-grandchildren, Maci and Parker Malone, Paisley Migliorini, Colton and Chase Cooper, Raelynn and Wrenley VanAsdlen and one on the way. Also surviving is one brother, Raymond (Barb) Migliorini of Plano; one sister, Margie Lenhausen of Utica and nieces and nephews.
