Rose L. Mecagni

Rose L. Mecagni, 99 years young, of Granville, passed away on January 4, 2022 at Aperion Care, Spring Valley.

Service will be on at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 8, 2022 at Dysart – Cofoid Funeral Chapel, Granville.  Pastor Karen Karczewski will officiate.  Burial will be in Granville Cemetery, Granville.

Visitation will be from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.

Rose was born on August 24, 1922 in Muddy, IL to James and Cora (Taylor) Story.  She married Nildo Mecagni on December 6, 1947 in LaSalle. He preceded her in death on April 4, 2014.

Rose was a homemaker.

Survivors include one son, Steve (Karen) Mecagni of Granville; one daughter, Bonnie (the late Bill) Lucas of Ladd; one daughter-in-law, Terri (Brian Edens) Mecagni of Granville; four sisters, Kathleen Dorff of Florid, Charlotte Bishop of Princeton, Blanche Naughton of Grand Ridge, and Darlene Bernardoni of Oglesby; one sister-in-law, Leona Mecagni of California; nine grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two sons, Vernon and Allan (his wife, Mary); three brothers, Ernest, Edward and James; one sister, Dora, and foster brother, Mike Vaini.

Pallbearers will be her grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be directed to the Putnam County Community Center or Putnam County Food Pantry.
