Ruth A. Boers

Ruth A. Boers, 95, of Peru, formerly of McNabb, passed away on Wednesday, December 24, 2014, at St. Margaret's Hospital, Spring Valley. Ruth was born on May 12, 1919, in Lostant to Frank and Elizabeth (Dagner) Keilty. She married Edward Boers on January 15, 1939, in Peru. Ed passed away on Feb. 11, 2013. Ruth was a beautician and a homemaker and helped her husband, Ed, with the farming for many years. She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church. Survivors include one daughter, Lynn (John) Shimkus of Granville; three grandchildren, Tim (Missy) Schlosser, Dan (Julie) Schlosser, and Stephanie (Steve) Lieb; three step grandchildren; six great -grandchildren, Nathan Schlosser, Kailey Schlosser, Kye Schlosser, Kenzie Schlosser, Lexi Lieb, and Cody Lieb; and four step great-grandchildren. Ruth was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, three brothers, and two sisters. In Lieu of flowers contributions may be directed to Immanuel Lutheran Church or to the donor's choice. Service/Memorial Information

Services will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday, December 27, 2014, at Immanuel Lutheran Church (County Line), Peru. Rev. Roger Helgren will officiate. Burial will be in Friends Cemetery, McNabb. Visitation will be on Saturday, December 27, 2014, from 9 to 11 a.m. at her church prior to the service. Dysart - Cofoid Funeral Chapel in Granville is assisting the family with the arrangements.
