Sharon Kay Cress-Bennett

Sharon Kay Cress-Bennett, 64 of Granville passed away on Thursday, January 30, 2020 at Heritage Health Care, Peru.

No services have been planned at this time.  Cremation rites will be accorded.

Dysart – Cofoid Funeral Chapel of Granville will be assisting the family with the arrangements.

Sharon was born on August 10, 1955 in LaSalle to Francis and Gertrude (Schuda) Pelszynski.  She married Andy Bennett on November 4, 1994 in Ottawa.

She graduated from LaSalle/Peru High School and continued her education at Illinois State University in Bloomington where she received her bachelor’s degree in education.Sharon worked at Horizon House and  then as a counselor at Gateway and WestCare  in the Sheridan Correctional Center.

Survivors include her husband, Andy Bennett of Granville; two step children, Sina (Brett) Pavia of Milwaukee, WI and Robert (Jennifer) Bennett of Ottawa; one step grandson, Ashton Bennett;  two sisters, Judith (Steven) Wertheimer of Greenwich, CT and Barbara (John) O’Brian of Barrington, IL.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Jackie Cress and one granddaughter, Paige Bennett.
