Shawn Dale McQuilkin

Dale McQuilkin, 58, of Magnolia passed away on Monday, December 20, 2021 at Saint Margaret’s Hospital, Spring Valley.

Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.  Cremation rites have been accorded.

Dysart – Cofoid Funeral Chapel will be assisting the family with the arrangements.

Dale was born on November 25, 1963 in Spring Valley to Howard P. and Myrle A. (Elwell) McQuilkin.

He graduated from Putnam County High School and was a laborer and worked at Hearthside Food Solution cookie factory in Wenona.

He was a member of the Granville Masonic Lodge #1093 and was a former member of the Magnolia Masonic Lodge #103.

Survivors include one son, Michael (Samantha) Illingworth; one daughter, Amanda Illingworth (Tony) Passini, one grandson, Adam; four brothers, Lee McQuilkin, Jon McQuilkin (Kamy), Scot McQuilkin (Lori) and Kevin McQuilkin (Tami).

He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.

In Lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the donor’s choice.

When Dale was not working he enjoyed spending time on the family farm riding horses, relaxing on the hill, and going to demo derbies with Amanda, Tony and the gang. He loved working with Michael fixing roads, cutting wood and just hanging out. But he most of all he enjoyed spending time with his grandson Adam and took every opportunity he could to spend time with him!
