Obituary

Shirley Jean McCune, 75, of Putnam passed away on Saturday, September 2, 2023 at her residence.

Cremation rites have been accorded.  Service will be at a later date.  Dysart – Cofoid Funeral Chapel will be assisting the family with the arrangements.

Shirley was born on September 12, 1947 in Spring Valley to Floyd and Lois (Bennington) Appel.  She married Raymond McCune on August 10, 1969 in the Putnam Christian Church.  Raymond preceded her in death on September 3, 2021.

Survivors include, Charles (Kerry) McCune, Kelly (John) McCune-Harrison and Regina (Randy) McCune-Lemons, Donald (Charlene) Appel; grandchildren, Ireland McCune, Skyler and Logan Milne and Roman Lemons.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and one sister.

Shirley graduated from Henry Senachwine High School and Bradley University.  She taught school for 30 years.

She had traveled to all the states in the U.S. plus Ireland, England, Scotland and Wales.  She enjoyed helping her husband build their log home.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Putnam Christian Church in Putnam.
