Shirley Ione Thomas

Shirley Ione Thomas, 93, of Peru passed away on Wednesday, June 14, 2023 at JPO Retirement Home in Dalzell.

The family will have a private service.  Burial will be in Valley Memorial Cemetery in Spring Valley.  Dysart – Cofoid Funeral Chapel at 208 S. McCoy St. Granville will be assisting the family with the arrangements.

Shirley was born on June 10, 1930 in Depue to Glen and Della (Philips) Coble.  She married Richard Sajnaj on March 26, 1949, he preceded her in death October 19, 1992.  She later married William Thomas on June 9, 1997 in Branson, Missouri.

After she graduated from Depue High School she was a factory worker at Hobbs in Spring Valley.  She was a member of the First Baptist Church in LaSalle.

She loved to go camping in the fifth wheel trailer.

Survivors include her husband, William Thomas of Peru; grandson, Scott Sims of Peru; three nieces, Judy Cvelbar, Janet Hansen, and Beverly Parks and one nephew, Rodney Blanco.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband, Richard Sajnaj; one son, Scott Sajnaj on April 24, 2010; three sisters, Lola Kane, Velma Robinson and Marie Bruno.
