Simm J. Doyle

Simm J. Doyle, 76, of Henry passed away on Saturday, December 19, 2020 at Unity Point Health, Peoria.

Private service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, December 28, 2020 at St. John XXIII Parish, Henry.  Fr. John Bosco Mujuni and Deacon Bob Murphy will officiate.  Burial will be in Henry City Cemetery with military honors.

The family will be receiving family and friends with a drive thru visitation at the Doyle Farms shop, from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 27, 2020 at 729 County Rd 1400 N, Henry.

Dysart – Cofoid Funeral Chapel will be assisting the family with the arrangements.

Simm was born on August 9, 1944 in Spring Valley, to Wilbur and Ethel (Kofoid) Doyle.  He married Nancy Moore on November 18, 1967 in Lacon.

He served in the United States Army.  Simm was a self-employed farmer and has farmed his whole life.

Simm was a member of the Henry American Legion and the Knights of Columbus.  He previously served on the Marshall-Putnam Fair Board and the Henry School Board.  He will be remembered for his smile and wonderful fish frys at his shop.

Survivors include his wife, Nancy of Henry; one son, Craig (Cheryle) Doyle of Henry; two daughters, Angela (Darren) Krafft of Henry and Nicole (Robert) Wheeler of Tiskilwa; two brothers, Bill (Susan) Doyle of Henry and Tom (Sharon Elmore) Doyle of Minneapolis, Minnesota; six grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Brock (Kentessa), Malena (Josh), Mallory, Bailey and Paige.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be directed to Henry Food Pantry, Henry Ambulance or Henry American Legion.

Pallbearers will be Brock Doyle, Robert Wheeler, Darren Krafft, Josh Cook, Tyler Wood and Tommy Lehmkuhl.
