William "Bill" Francis Kuhne

William “Bill” Francis Kuhne, 78, of Princeton, (formerly of Hennepin) passed away on Friday, January 6, 2023 at home surrounded by his wife and kids.

Service will be at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 11, 2023 at Dysart – Cofoid Funeral Chapel, Granville.  Pastor Ryan Sutton will officiate.  Cremation rites will be accorded following the service.  The family will have a private graveside service in Granville Cemetery at a later date. 

Visitation will be from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 11, 2023 at Dysart – Cofoid Funeral Chapel, Granville.

Bill was born on April 6, 1944 in Spring Valley to Adolph and Eaula (Lonie) Kuhne.  He married Diane J. Holocker on March 21, 1970, at the Granville Lutheran Church.

Bill graduated from Magnolia Swaney High School in 1962.  He was a lifelong farmer.  He retired from farming in 1995.  At which time he worked for the Putnam County Highway Department.  He was a leader of Clear Creek Creators 4-H Club, in McNabb.  He was also involved in M-P Farm Bureau, M-P Pork Producers, Putnam County Zoning Board, and M-P 4-H Fair Board.  He was an avid hunter and fisherman.  After he retired from the Highway Department, you would find Bill in his gardens, sitting under a shade tree, tinkering in his garage, or on his John Deere lawn mower.

He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Diane Kuhne and three children: William “Bill” (Julie) Kuhne Jr. of Princeton, Brian (Dana Debo) Kuhne of Peru, and Jennifer (Kenneth) Kuhne-Hubbard of Princeton.  His grandchildren: Colton (Michelle O’Keefe) Kuhne, Tanner (McKenzie Lechner) Kuhne, Payton Kuhne, Abby Davis, Maggie Davis, Chloe Ostrowski, Ella Ostrowski, Liam Hubbard, Maddox Hubbard and Hudson Kuhne.  Also surviving are numerous nieces and nephews and his loyal dog Buddy.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his in-laws (Floyd and Ethel Holocker), brother-in-law (William “Bill” Gene Holocker) and nephew, (Bradley Holocker).

Memorials may be directed to the Putnam County High School FFA.

Honorary pallbearers will be Colton Kuhne, Tanner Kuhne, Liam Hubbard, Maddox Hubbard and Hudson Kuhne.
